      Kimberly is planning a destination wedding for her nuptials with Big Ron in Essence best-selling Warren's sequel to All the Things I Should Have Known (2020), though his ex is causing drama. Twila is coping with PTSD with the help of a therapist after realizing that the man who raped her in a club two years ago is now living in her subdivision. Hahna grows closer to Sam while trying to save her failing business, then a death in her family leads to bringing him to meet her mother and relatives. These visits are always stressful and painful. Twila and Hahna are the maids of honor for Kimberly's wedding, and even though one of their sorority sister bridesmaids harshly judges them and their plans as sinful and worldly, they all learn to compromise to be sure the bride enjoys a loving shower and wedding. Warren builds on the friendships of fortysomething Kimberly, Twila, and Hahna and their sorority sisters by following each point of view while they find love and help each other in this smart and engaging tale.

      In this sequel to All the Things I Should Have Known, Kimberly is marrying her old college beau Ron and planning a destination wedding. Her best friends Hahna and Twila, along with their other sorority line sisters, are fulfilling their ancient pact to be in one another's weddings. As if this weren't tension enough, Twila's private demons resurface; Hahna's company is failing; and Ron's ex is starting trouble. Told from the perspectives of Kimberly, Hahna, and Twila (all three independent, financially successful professionals), this ode to sisterhood is about finding Mr. Right while having your friends' backs. In addition to constant bridal party conflict, each woman has a soap opera of a backstory that she handles powerfully. An earlier novel of faith, family, and scandal by the popular Warren, My Favorite Son, was recently made into a BET+ original movie. VERDICT Readers needn't have read the first book about Hahna, Twila, and Kimberly to be immediately caught up in this story.
